The year 2026 continued GPK license agreements from existing contracts, in the absence of retired Ira Friedman (VP of Licensing & Publishing), departing in late 2023, and brand-new contracts; it is still rumoured that Fanatics wanted to limit and reduce the amount of GPK licenses, as of 2024. Retail/hobby card releases have also slowed down, with only chrome appearing at retail, with Topps online and hobby received exclusive releases; regular online material held on to most of their scheduled releases.

Alphabetically, the pre-existing license agreements with Topps for the Garbage Pail Kids brand and continued product up through the end of 2025 included, Abrams Books, Atomic Toybox (+ Bull Airs) Dynamite Entertainment, Get A Grip Skateboards, Greenlight Collectibles, Homage LLC, Hybris Production AB, License 2 Play Toys LLC (GPK 8" plush still listed), MLB [Major League Baseball], Monogram International, Inc. [GPK bank + figural bag clips still listed, minus S2], National Bobblehead Hall of Fame & Museum, Polyphony, PSA, Super7, Thrilljoy Collectibles, Vinegar Syndrome, Zion Cases and WWE. New partnerships included the NBA [The National Basketball Association].

Per Non-Sport Update publication (Vol.36 • No.2 • April/May 2025), a Fanatics® Topps article, titled 'The Elephant in the Room', stated, "Along with Topps baseball cards, Fanatics also acquired the rights to produce Star Wars cards, and the ownership of Wacky Packages, Garbage Pail Kids and Mars Attacks. This is a new area of business for Fanatics, and they've been tight-lipped about their plans, but there are licensing deals in place that assure their big three original creations will still be around for a while, although the Martians haven't done much attacking lately."

NOTE: Additional book and calendar information can be located within the previous GPK license pages. Abrams had historically announced next-year calendars well in advance, usually by April of any given year, but as of June 2025, no announcement for a 2026 GPK calendar had appeared, and no 2026 GPK calendar was released.

Four and a half years after the hardcover version, Abrams Books released a softcover edition of their R.L. Stine Garbage Pail Kids (Book #1) Welcome to Smellville story, through their Amulet Books imprint, that publishes novels, graphic novels and nonfiction for young adults. The Book #1 announcement was listed to the Abrams website, and to retail outlets, as a preorder in mid-December 2024. The Book #2 (Thrills and Chills) announcement was listed to the Abrams webite, and to retail outlets, as a preorder the week of February 10, 2025. The Book #3 (Camp Daze) announcement was listed to the Abrams website, and to online outlest, as a pre-order the week of February 09, 2026, a full year later. A placeholder page was set up for Amazon Canada since the announcement, but the pre-order was not active until February 19, 2026. The slime green color packaging would remain intact, reminiscent of and associated by collectors with the All-New Series release of 2003. On April 09, 2026, Gross took to his social media channels, stating, "NEW AJ Dybantsa card I painted for 2026 Bowman NBA chrome out in a few weeks! The image was revealed at the Topps Industry show in AZ yesterday." The odds spreadsheet link was added to the landing page the week of April 13, 2026, and drop details on April 20, 2026, listing, 'Hobby and value available April 22 at 12pm ET on EQL and topps.com, Mega available May 7'. On April 17, 2026, Gross stated, "Sienna Betts Garbage Pail Kids card I painted for Bowman NBA Chrome out 4/22!" On April 21, 2026, the Topps and NBA shared a GPK image on their social media channels, with the type, 'The artwork on this Cooper Flagg rookie card is INSANE', and stating, "Cooper Flagg is an actual FLAG on his newest trading card. On May 15, 2026, Polyphony took to their social media channels, around 10:15am CT, to post a sneak peek at an upcoming GPK release, simply stating, "New Series, Runt Works, Sofubi, Pocket Pal." The dark and smoky image had the '47a' card number displayed as a clue of the GPK biker character. The advert contained the 'Polyphony Vinyls' line log, along with 'Runt Works', [UTL]. The post mentions 'Sofubi', per Wiki, is a type of Japanese toy made from soft vinyl which first began to be produced in the 1950s and 60s, typically being modeled after popular kaiju (monster) and tokusatsu (live action) characters, having shifted to designer art toys in current times. The post also mentions 'Pocket Pal', usually a plural term, pocket pals, eluding to palm-sized figurines.

Zion Cases retained a 'TOPPS' logo license agreement, releasing Topps 1—3 slab row cases around September 2025, dropping on both the Zion Cases (Single x2, GO, 2R, X, XL) and Topps (2R, X) websites. Zion Cases also licensed the 'GPK' logo for several GPK 2—3 slab row cases on the Zion Cases website in December 2025, along with a 40th Anniversary 'Sticker Pack', showcasing the four birthday-celebrating GPK characters.
